Garden City Recycling keeps recycling simple for our clients. We ask that you just do a very basic sorting prior to pick up using the following guide:
Bin #1: aluminum cans, steel food cans, plastic bottles #1 and #2 (milk jugs, soda bottles, detergent bottles, no bottle caps). Please, rinse out these containers before putting them into the bin.
Bin #2: white paper, mixed paper, computer paper, colored paper, junk mail, magazines, phone books, newspaper. By placing 2 brown paper grocery bags into the bin, it’s easy to separate out newspaper from other papers. Place all non-corrugated cardboard (cereal boxes, beer cases, etc) and brown paper into this bin.
Corrugated cardboard: Break down boxes and place them beneath bins for pick-up.
Specialty Items: Ink cartridges, cell phones, batteries, and electronics are all accepted. Smaller items such as ink cartridges should be placed in a bag and set on top of bins. For larger items such as old televisions or computers, please call to arrange a special pick-up.
Download our comprehensive curbside recycling guide and post it above your bins for easy sorting. Signs for your bins are also available to download. Find them in the links sidebar to the left.
Recycling pick-up occurs on a twice-a-month basis. Bins and cardboard should be put out in front of main entrance on curb before 9 am on your designated pick-up day.
Garden City Recycling promotes environmental stewardship by providing neighborhoods throughout Missoula with reliable curbside pick-up of recyclable materials.
